Twelfth Night
August 3-6
Young Viola survives a shipwreck and is washed up on the shores of Illyria. What’s a poor girl to do? Disguise herself as a man and go to work in Count Orsino’s court, of course. But when she falls head over heels in love with Orsino… who is in love with Olivia… who then proceeds to fall in love with the new boy in town -- well, cross-dressing never is as simple as it seems. Aided and abetted by such classic comic characters as the uptight Malvolio and the drunken Sir Toby Belch,Shakespeare in Clark Park’s Twelfth Night explores the haziness of love and identity in the lush green space of one of Philadelphia’s loveliest parks.
